He commenced his investment banking career at Bain & Company in New York in 1987, and following the acquisition by Deutsche Bank, became a founding member of Deutsche Bank's Australian investment banking operations.

Fred joined Fawkner Capital as a principal and executive director in 2000 and has led Fawkner Capital's investment activities since that time. He commenced his investment banking career at Goldman Sachs in New York in 1985 before relocating to Sydney for Goldman Sachs' newly established Australian operations.
